Celebrating a week at home!!

It's hard to believe we've been home almost a week. The time has gone fast, but it also seems like a million years since we've been in China. Brianna seems to be adjusting very well. She's getting into everything, and she's very stubborn. She is also so loving, sweet, and cute. We're so happy to have her. My house is a mess and I can barley get a shower, but that's okay. She gets so excited when she sees her Daddy or brother, Drew. She's eating well( if she approves of the menu, if she doesn't she just throws it). She's sleeping pretty well so far, but she fights her afternoon naps. Did I mention she's a big ham? She just loves to have her picture taken. She's always looking for an audience too. She's definitely in the right family. (She even has my temper)

We're leaving for the airport in less than 2 1/2 hours!!

It's 5:45 am and Danny and I just got finished packing, cleaning, and loading the ipods. The car's packed. All we need to do is put the car seat in the car and get showers. I hope our flight's on time. I'm really going to need to sleep on the plane. I hope Drew sleeps too, but he's been sleeping all night. He wanted to go to bed early so he'd be ready for today.

Just wanted to let all the girls at work know that I did get the Cheerios.

Leaving Tomorrow!!!

I can't believe we're finally leaving in the morning. It doesn't seem real. It's almost 10pm and I'm not finished packing yet. I'm sure I'll be up all night. I hope this blog works when we're in China. We're so excited, but it doesn't seem real yet. I'll try to post in China.

Travel Time at Last!!??

After 3 years and 8 months of waiting, we are getting very close to bringing Brianna home. Our adoption journey started in October 2005. That's when Danny and I decided we wanted to adopt and started the process. At the time, we thought we'd have our daughter home within the year. We had no idea how long our wait would really be. Our paperwork was sent to China on February 10, 2006 and we were logged in LID March 8, 2006. On April 6, 2009 we got the wonderful call we've been waiting for. We had a daughter!! Her name is Fu Yan Xiang and she's in the Fuzhou City SWI in Jianxi, China. Her birth date is March 20, 2008. (Another March birthday-now we all have March birthdays)

We thought we'd be traveling in 6-7 weeks, but the swine flu hit and delayed our travel a little. The good news is that we are set to travel on June 4th now. We still don't know how long we need to be in the baby's province because it usually takes 5 days to get the baby's passport, but our agency thinks it might take 8 days in June, so they aren't sure when we'll be traveling home yet. Of course, I was very nervous about this because we need to buy our tickets so we decided to get our tickets for the latest date we would be coming home. We were told we'd be coming home either June 18th or June 21st. We booked our tickets for June 4th and coming home June 21st. We decided to stay in Hong Kong for a few days if we don't need to stay the extra days in the province. I'm actually hoping we get the few extra days in Hong Kong. I'm just praying our agency doesn't come back and tell us they need to change the days. I can't wait to just get there and bring her home. Our Gotcha Day is scheduled for Monday, June 8th, but I heard that sometimes they surprise you and Gotcha Day is a day earlier.
